Pet Insurance for Siamese cats

Siamese cats come from Thailand (or Siam as it used to be called) and are defined by their piercing blue eyes.

They are among the most intelligent and chattiest of cats, with a distinctive voice and an inquisitive personality.

These curious cats can climb and wriggle into all manner of places, so keep your eye on this mischievous breed.

Siamese cats can live for up to 20 years, but they do have sensitive stomachs and are prone to breathing problems.

To make sure your cat lives a long and happy life, choose pet insurance that will take care of your Siamese for the long term.

The Story of Siamese

Did you know...?

  • In Thailand, Siamese cats are called Wichian Mat which means moon diamond.
  • Siamese cats are known as the dog of the cat world and can be trained to walk with a lead and fetch.
  • In Disney’s Lady and the Tramp, Peggy Lee provided the voice for both Siamese cats Si and Am, plus Peg the dog and Darling.
  • Siamese cats are born white and their coat is often not fully developed until they are three years old.

Caring for your Siamese Cat

The short coat of the Siamese requires no grooming, although you may wish to occasionally bathe your cat if they will let you.

As Siamese cats are very inquisitive it’s important to cat proof your home so that your cats can investigate new hiding places safely, even when you’re away from home.

Siamese cats don’t like being left alone for too long, so it might be worth getting two so they can keep each other company.
